I was researching few info in the AWS Documentation and that is when this small icon popped – up
I recognized that this was Amazon Q from the re:Invent announcements last week. It is the new Generative AI powered assistant from Amazon. I decided to try it out as it was nudging me(its only available in preview now). I kept 3 basic queries in mind:
1) Can it provide step-by-step guidance like ChatGPT or any GenAI tools
I must say that Amazon Q has not disappointed me a bit within the preview versions itself.
2) Does it access the internet for the latest AWS info?
Well, though it did not give me all details, it gave me few important ones and provided link to others.
3) Does it provide inline policies which are quite handy while defining permissions.
Well, I asked for a common policy that we use while testing with S3 integrations, to allow public access to its objects and gave me an out of the box policy which I could readily use.
These were a few basic prompts and Amazon Q was prompt in replying as well :). Waiting for Amazon Q’s official release to try out more features. You can find more details on Amazon Q here: https://aws.amazon.com/q/
